Visitors to our home will be happy to note that a stop chez Casa Rowe will no longer entail picking up dead leaves and sock lint from our carpet: the vacuum saga has finally come to a triumphant end. After more than a year dealing with broken/partially functioning/cheap vacuums and general inadequacy, we have finally bucked up the cash for a new vacuum. Yes, you know you’re getting old when this constitutes blog-worthy news. Between my sister’s asthma and her arthritis (no bulky uprights please) and our long hair which clogs powerheads and the condo’s thick shag carpet, we thought our quest for the perfect vacuum would be never-ending. Throw in our poor communication skills and varying degrees of financial willingness and ability and you have a year of frustration and unnecessarily High Vacuum Hostility (or HVH.) In fact, when we actually got right down to it, it took us twenty minutes. We went to an actual vacuum store, we said this is what we need and this is our budget and voila! We got the Panasonic canister vacuum. What do you know? Knowing what you want and being able to ask for it actually results in getting your needs met. Humpf. Lesson learned..
