Is My Voodoo Working?

The temp job that I was working so diligently at appreciating let me go after the economic situation cause a shut-down to the project I was working on. I was bummed at first, but then reminded myself that I didn't even really like the job in the first place.

This was in my inbox when I came home that night:

“In ancient times, when royalty went for a stroll, a servant went before them. His job was to pick up stones and debris so that the master would not stumble or get his shoes dirty. It was known as clearing the path.

This is something that each of us must do for ourselves. Our progress through life can be precarious if the mental/emotional path we walk is strewn with unresolved fears, resentments or limiting beliefs about ourselves.

Daily meditation is like taking a broom to a dusty attic. With some effort, the space is cleared. The effect is a greater ability to stay current in our perception, unclouded by past experiences.

Keeping a running gratitude journal, which we add to every day, fills the mind with appreciation and cheerful expectation. The path ahead looks bright and offers more opportunities to be grateful.

Service to others is one of the most powerful ways to express our abundance and therefore, to affirm it again and again. As we give of our time, talent or treasure, we are validated in our wealth, our love, our grateful hearts.

Then there are the practices of dancing and singing or chanting that open up the inner space and allow trapped energy to be released. Have you noticed how many places in our daily life require us to be quiet? Our true voice wants out! The body needs to jump and shout! The playful spirit must have its fun!

All of these simple and free activities clear the path before us by clearing the vision within us.”

So, I did my gratitude journal and the next day was offered a job as associate editor/staff writer which will start January 1st.

Love it.
