My Life as a John Denver Song

Does anyone remember the last scene in "40-Year-Old Virgin"? There are those hippies running through the fields with organza fabric on poles blowing gently in the wind. That pretty much sums up my weekend.

So, I have spent the last five days in another seminar trying to get to the bottom of things. In a few weeks, I will be moving on to Level 3. This is what I got out of it this time. You’ll notice I kept getting the same lesson many times over. Us hard-headed ones need it drilled in.

Consider this a mixtape of all my favorite boner scenes from the weekend of October 25/08:

1. The happiness you feel is in direct proportion to the love you give.
2. If you give love and are a) keeping score or b) seeking approval, it is not love. Love by nature is unconditional. Anything else cannot be called such.
3. Accepting and loving, no strings attached will pay huge dividends.
4. I am a goddess and men will fall at my feet if I just accept them as they are and want nothing from them.
5. Accepting my whole self (even the flaws) and my own humanity is the key to a happy life.
6. Beauty, really and truly comes from within.
7. Anger is a secondary emotion and a protection which is always masking something deeper.
8. My heart and my head work separately from each other and are very good at doing so. The key for me is getting them to work together. The key is to let my heart speak its truth and not let my head talk me out of it.
9. I have really good instincts and a killer intuition which I have never trusted.
10. There is nothing sexier than men who talk about their feelings and women who own their power.
11. Stepping into my power and owning my power gives others permission to do the same.
12. Life is all about choosing to find the lesson in everything you do; I can choose to make the lesson easy or difficult.
13. Energy follows intent.
14. I get to be the cause of my own experience.
15. Later never comes.
16. The words 'I can't' really suck.
17. What we focus on expands.
18. If you are going to make up stories about what people think of you, you may as well make them good ones.
19. Choose every single day of your life to make it easy. It doesn't have to be so hard.
20. It takes a lot more energy to live in resistance to something than it does simply to accept it as it is.
